And we are off!!
ADMIRAL sets sail on our Dick Whittington 2016 /2017 Pantomime Tour.
It is often said that to succeed in business you have to dream big and aim high, and that certainly is what we are trying to do with our growing, local production company. We are delighted to have gained the sponsorship of South Wales employer, Admiral Group for the 2016/2017 pantomime tour of Dick Whittington.
“The streets of London are paved with Gold – or at least that’s what Dick Whittington thinks! The classic tale of Dick Whittington will be touring South Wales this Christmas spreading the true magic of pantomime to new and returning audiences. The tale follows our hero Dick who fleas the country and arrives in the big city with his faithful cat, Tom Tom, to make his fortune. With the help of Dame Cookie and Jobbing Jack, he starts working alongside the beautiful Alice Fitzwarren- but the evil King Rat has other plans for our hero! With Fairy Pearly Queen on his side, will Dick win out and achieve his destiny to become the Lord Mayor of London? Will he survive the stormy seas whilst on voyage? Or will King Rat triumph?”
This brilliant rags to riches story of Dick and his cat promises to be bigger and better than ever before as audiences across South Wales embark on an exciting quest in this fun and affordable production which is ‘purrr-fect’ for the whole family.
In recent years the our brand has been known for creating the ‘Best affordable pantomime in South Wales” which has helped us build a festive tradition with the locals of Swansea and Carmarthen where last year’s sensational Sleeping Beauty Pantomime stunned audience members of all ages.
This year the company has undergone a huge expansion as it visits not two, not three but FOUR South Wales Venues including Carmarthen, Swansea, Brecon and ending its final leg of the tour in the wonderful Port Talbot.
Co-Director and West End veteran Nia Jermin says that the success of the company is something that she is extremely proud of especially as it allows her to return home to Swansea.
“It is fantastic that my brother and I were able to set up a business that not only celebrates our home town of Swansea by putting it on the map but also other areas within South Wales. I really enjoy working with many local businesses and we are proud to invest back into the local community witht he support from these businesses by encouraging and raising profile to each Venue. Another reach out to the communities is to give young aspiring performers the opportunity to experience and gain a live, professional theatre credits.”
Our company is blown away by the support of audiences, groups and businesses in Swansea and Carmarthen in our recent years. However this year it seems that 2016 /2017 will be our best year ever claiming the jackpot by enlisting the help and support of Swansea neighbour, Admiral.
“Theatre and the creative arts is something that has and always will be a passion of mine therefore it is fantastic to have such a large local employer like Admiral showing their support for the arts.” confessed Nia.
The main focus of the collaboration is community engagement and investing back into the staff and supporters of both Admiral and Jermin Productions. With this priority in mind Admiral is offering their staff a variety of incentives which will allow them to follow every step of the preparation, production and performance for this year’s Dick Whittington pantomime, as well as the opportunity to get tickets to the show.
A selection of Admiral staff will be on board to assist the writing of this year’s script where they will attend a script writing session alongside Directors Mark and Nia Jermin to lend their hand to the extremely witty scenes which will once again be jam packed with current, local references and classic pantomime gags. The team will also join the cast on a promotional Photoshoot which will allow Admiral employees to experience roles both in front and behind the camera lens.
This with allow them to experience every last second of the preparation that goes into creating a touring production of this scale. Admiral, which has won many awards for being a good employer, was keen to invite their employees to be on board with the pantomime to witness each aspect of the production not just the finished, polished performances that will run from the beginning of December right through the end of January in the new year.
The added support from Admiral has meant Jermin Productions is able to aim higher than ever before and make this year’s dazzling Dick Whittington set the highest standard for future productions to follow. Co-Director Mark Jermin is confident that this year is going to bring something new and exciting to the table.
“This year we really are pulling out all of the stops, we’re doubling the performances, doubling the number of venues which of course means doubling the audience numbers. It’s a tall order but I’m extremely confident that we’ve got enough tricks up our sleeve for this year’s script”,said Mark.
With the addition of two new theatre venues, we are keen to keep our pantomime affordable and accessible to all by adding a range of catered performance times, discounted prices and booking packages. There are performances to suit everyone including:
- early and matinee shows for tiny tots,
- Signed and Relaxed performances to make Pantomime even more accessible,
- additional Sunday shows
- exclusive midweek school performances too at discounted price and with all teachers and chaperones going completely free.
Jermin Productions are also offering an exclusive Group offer for parties or organisations which is valid at EVERY public performance.
Tickets are NOW on sale for this year’s magically mesmerising production of Dick Whittington.
