Racing to new heights

July is already turning into a pretty exciting month, as we race towards new heights for our Company in preparing for our maddest year to date!

And what a ride we have in store: Last week we had the pleasure of getting our brand new set of wheels in the form of the fantastic Citroen C4 Grand Picasso courtesy of Bassetts Group Swansea. We are absolutely thrilled with this car, in all its Pantomime glory as it was unveiled to the roads of South Wales. Adjourned in its brilliance and sheen of the 2017 Jack and the Beanstalk design, this car really does stop traffic with its bright colours and bold design… I was lucky enough to collect the car in person this year (something i’ve never been around to do before) and it was fantastic to see so many passers by stop and stare at this theatrical car.

In true Pantomime spirit, I love getting  behind the wheel and grabbing an opportunity like this with both hands, the team and I are so grateful to the incredible staff at Bassetts Group for their kindness in helping our Cast dash around to rehearsals, performances and appearances

You can follow the most theatrical stagey Bassetts car on and off the road by following its very own Twitter Account: @TwirleyBassey and if you see us on the road, remember to give us a honk!!

And the car has already been out and about on the road, helping to take our Pantomime Cast including the cheeky Jack and beautiful Jill to a number of schools in the Swansea and Neath areas. The Cast have been brilliantly energetic in giving the students an end of year treat  before the Summer Holidays in the form of a mini Pantomime. The response from the students of schools including Ysgol Tan Y Lan, Blaendulais and Trallwn Primary has been excellent as everyone including the teachers has gotten into the Pantomime spirit!

Amongst the audience participation (and one particular hilarious Daisy the Cow appearance!) The presentation has had a strong key message. Working with the Mid and West Wales Fire Services, Jermin Productions have been delighted to participate and help in delivering fire safety messages to pupils at Key Stage Levels 1 and 2 ahead of the Summer Holidays to ensure students and youngsters stay safe this Summer. Jack and Jill offer students many scenarios that young children and teens may face in the near future and help show the how to take precautions so that your fingers don’t get burnt, and to ensure that you don’t get involved in any Arson. We are delighted that our “HERO” Campaign has been so well received amongst students and staff, this is made apparent following the end of Pantomime discussion where the students demonstrate in a quick fire Question and Answer session what they have learnt in this unique “out of classroom” learning presentation.

We are also really pleased to see how well the response of our Presentations have gone done particularly in Welsh Language schools ahead of our Welsh language performances of Jack and the Beanstalk this December at the Lyric Theatre Carmarthen and Ffwrnes Theatre Llanelli, as there isn’t a lot of options for Pantomime in the Welsh language which we are really excited about this year.

We will be out and about visiting our schools once again this week and also in October with another Campaign that will help benefit and teach students out of the classroom which is always really engaging ad rewarding. This time in October will be towards the actual full scale performances of Jack and the Beanstalk, where we offer a large number of school performances at:

Princess Royal Theatre Port Talbot

Lyric Theatre Carmarthen

Ffwrnes Theatre Llanelli
